It is ok to have a dream about something good and pray to God that it happens. Many people in the Bible were dreamers. They dreamed about things and had visions of what they would be like in future. They had visions of who they would or wanted to become or what they wanted to have in the future.

Jesus Christ was a dreamer, He was a visionary: Jesus had a dream about the future while He was here on earth. He had a dream and a vision of us and everyone else who would believe in Him. He had a vision of us saved and washed in His blood. We are the joy that was set before Him.

It says in Hebrews chapter 12: “Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

King David also had a dream and a vision: he wanted to build a Temple for the Lord in Jerusalem. Now, God decided it would not be David who built the Temple but it would be his son Solomon who built it. David was happy and pleased about this and gathered some of the materials necessary to build it.

The Bible says: “Then David said, “This is the house of the Lord God, and this is the altar of burnt offering for Israel.”

So David gave orders to gather the foreigners who were in the land of Israel, and he set stonecutters to hew out stones to build the house of God. David prepared large quantities of iron to make the nails for the doors of the gates and for the clamps, and more bronze than could be weighed; and timbers of cedar logs beyond number, for the Sidonians and Tyrians brought large quantities of cedar timber to David. David said, “My son Solomon is young and inexperienced, and the house that is to be built for the Lord shall be exceedingly magnificent, famous and glorious throughout all lands. Therefore now I will make preparation for it.” So David made ample preparations before his death.”

Maybe you have a dream. Maybe it is a good dream that will bless you or many people for God. Keep dreaming your dream. Don’t stop dreaming. Pray and ask God to help you fulfill it.

Hannah had a dream that she wanted a son. There is nothing wrong with wanting a son if you cannot have a child. There is nothing wrong with desiring something good from God, whether you are praying for a healing for someone, or for a child to be born to you, or dreaming for God to help you reach a million people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. God wants us to dream.

God had a vision for the universe and then He spoke it into existence. He said: “Let there be light” and there was light. And God saw that the light good was good.

Joseph “had still another dream, and related it to his brothers, and said, “Lo, I have had still another dream; and behold, the sun and the moon and eleven stars were bowing down to me.”

And the dreams came true. Joseph because the prime minister of Egypt and was able to save his family an brothers from famine because Joseph had the power to give them food.

When the Israelites were on the borders of the promised land Caleb had a vision that they could conquer it: “But Caleb tried to quiet the people as they stood before Moses. “Let’s go at once to take the land,” he said. “We can certainly conquer it!”

The Israelites didn’t believe him but 40 years later Joshua and Caleb entered the land and conquered it.

So my message to you today is – don’t give up on your dreams. Pray about them even if you don’t see them happening. Trust in the Lord that they will come to pass even though it doesn’t look like they will. Hold onto your faith and your vision and the trust you have in the Lord to answer your prayers.

Many years ago I had a dream that I would see 1,000 Somali Christians in the same building standing there worshipping the Lord Jesus Christ together in Spirit and in truth. Somalis from every tribe and clan in the same room standing there in peace and love and joy; filled with the Holy Spirit worshipping God with one voice.

And I still have a dream the God will use Somali Christian Ministries to reach every Somali on earth with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I have many dreams and I know these dreams are good. It is good to dream good dreams for God and to trust in God to fulfill them.

May God grant you your dream and sustain you and give you the power and the courage to pursue and fulfill it. Let us pray.
