We have all heard the saying “you need to put your heart into it.” We can believe something with our minds, but if we really believe something, we need to believe it with our hearts. We think with our minds but we believe with our hearts. And God is interested in having our whole heart. He wants us to believe in Him with all of our hearts.
We love with our hearts
Jesus teaches us: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart.” (Luke 10:27). God wants our hearts. The Bible teaches us that God is not impressed by what we say with our lips, God cares about what we think about Him with our hearts. In the Bible we read that there were many people who said that they believed in God with their lips, but not with their hearts.
This is what the Bible says: “And so the Lord says, “These people say they are mine. They honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. And their worship of me is nothing but man-made rules….” (Isaiah 29:13).
God knows when we are just pretending to be following Him, and when we truly follow Him with our hearts. Many people get dressed and go to worship God, but in their hearts they do not truly love Him or honor Him. God is looking for those who honor Him with their hearts.
We believe with our hearts
“For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.” (Romans 10:10).
We can learn about God by reading the Bible. We can get many facts and grow in our knowledge about the Lord. But do we really believe what God is saying? Have we given our hearts over to God? Many people are in love with money. They have given their hearts over to money.
Jesus teaches us and says: “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:21).
Whatever we love, we love with our hearts. Whatever we hold dear and put a great value on, we do so with our hearts. Our hearts define and tell us what we believe is worth a lot or very valuable. Whatever you love, you love with your heart. And God wants us to love Him with all of our hearts and to hold Him dear in our hearts.
We feel with our hearts
Jesus teaches us: “When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.” (Matthew 9:36).
Jesus was moved in His heart with compassion. It is our love of God and our love of other people that moves us to do something. We feed the hungry because we love them. We give clothes to the poor because we love them. It is with our hearts that we believe in God because we love Him.
The Bible teaches us: “O my son, give me your heart. May your eyes take delight in following my ways.” (Proverbs 23:26).
God wants your heart. God wants you to believe in Him with all of your heart. Every corner and every piece of your heart is what God is after.
Parable of the seeds
Jesus taught us about the farmer who went out to put seeds in the earth so that the plants and crops would grow. Jesus taught us that the seed is like the Word of God and that many people hear the teachings of God but only a few people give their hearts to God and believe what God is saying.
Jesus says: “The seed that fell on good soil represents those who truly hear and understand God’s word and produce a harvest of thirty, sixty, or even a hundred times as much as had been planted!” (Matthew 13:23).
We understand and hear with our hearts. Our minds receive the information and we hear the information with our minds. But if we do not open our hearts to receive the information then we will not believe it. We can hear the words from the God, we can listen to the teachings of Jesus, we can read the truths in the Bible, but if we do not believe in them with our hearts then our lives will not be changed. We need to believe in God with our hearts in order for our lives to be changed by God.
If you really want to have understanding read the bible with an open mind
The Bible is the Word of God. The Bible is a book that God has protected for over 2,000 years. The Bible is filled with the teachings of God. These teachings are true and can never be changed because God never changes.
God told us how to live in the Bible over 2,000 years ago and those teachings have never changed. So we can trust the Bible because God has protected it.
If you really want to know the truth then you should read the Bible with an open mind. Read it for yourself. Understand what is written there and learn for yourself what it says. Many people do not know what is in the Bible because they have never read it. Many people tell you what is in the Bible, but they are wrong, because they have never read it. They just tell you what they think it says because they heard someone talk about it. But they have never read the Bible for themselves.
Jesus teaches us: “And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:32). If you want to know the truth then you have to read the Bible to find out what it says. Read it with an open mind. It is available in your own language.’’
And when you read it, read it with an open mind. The Bible teaches us: “
“Harden the hearts of these people.
Plug their ears and shut their eyes.
That way, they will not see with their eyes,
nor hear with their ears,
nor understand with their hearts
and turn to me for healing.” (Isaiah 6:10).
You will only find God when you look for Him with your whole heart and believe in Him with all of your heart.
