Today, as Christians, God still speaks to His people. God speaks to His people through the power of the Holy Spirit. Rooh Ul Quds is the Spirit of Jesus Christ who is also called the Holy Spirit (Rooh Ul Quds). The Holy Spirit is not the Angel Jibril, also called the Angel Gabriel.
The Holy Spirit spoke to Philip
In the Bible we read that the Holy Spirit spoke to someone who believed in Jesus Christ as Lord and Messiah. We read about this in the Book of Acts, Act 8:26-29:
“As for Philip, an angel of the Lord said to him, “Go south down the desert road that runs from Jerusalem to Gaza.” So he started out, and he met the treasurer of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under the Kandake, the queen of Ethiopia. The eunuch had gone to Jerusalem to worship, and he was now returning. Seated in his carriage, he was reading aloud from the book of the prophet Isaiah.
The Holy Spirit said to Philip, “Go over and walk along beside the carriage.”
The Holy Spirit speaks to us from within us
We read in the Bible that the Holy Spirit is given to those who believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. That means that the Holy Spirit is living inside of those people who believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.
Some people in the Bible received the Holy Spirit when other believers put their hands on them and prayed for them. After the believers in Jesus prayed and laid their hands on people, the other people received the Holy Spirit. We read about this in the Book of Acts, chapter 8:
“Then Peter and John laid their hands upon these believers, and they received the Holy Spirit.
When Simon saw that the Spirit was given when the apostles laid their hands on people, he offered them money to buy this power. “Let me have this power, too,” he exclaimed, “so that when I lay my hands on people, they will receive the Holy Spirit!” (Acts 8:17-19).
Jesus said the Holy Spirit would live in you
Jesus said that the Holy Spirit would live inside those people who believed in Him as Lord and Saviour. We read about this in John chapter 14:
“If you love me, obey my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you. No, I will not abandon you as orphans—I will come to you. Soon the world will no longer see me, but you will see me. Since I live, you also will live. When I am raised to life again, you will know that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them.” (John 14:15-21)
Jesus said that the Holy Spirit will speak to us
The Holy Spirit is a living Spirit. He is a good Spirit. Jesus said that the Holy Spirit would speak to us and talk to us. We read about this in John chapter 16:
“There is so much more I want to tell you, but you can’t bear it now. When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future. He will bring me glory by telling you whatever he receives from me. All that belongs to the Father is mine; this is why I said, ‘The Spirit will tell you whatever he receives from me.’” (John 16:12-15).
Jesus told us that the Holy Spirit would teach us and speak to us about Jesus. And whatever the Holy Spirit says we can see is in the Bible.
The Holy Spirit spoke to Paul
Paul was another man who lived during the time of Jesus Christ. Paul became a Christian and was baptized after Jesus rose from the dead and went to heaven. After Paul became a Christian he received the Holy Spirit. The Bible says:
“So Ananias went and found Saul. He laid his hands on him and said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road, has sent me so that you might regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.” (Acts 9:17).
Paul received and was filled with the Holy Spirit. Throughout Paul’s lifetime the Holy Spirit spoke to Paul and guided him in his missionary journeys.
“One day as these men were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Dedicate Barnabas and Saul for the special work to which I have called them.” (Acts 13:2).
The Holy Spirit will help you
The Holy Spirit is our guide. He is our friend and the one who comforts us when we are down and depressed. The Holy Spirit give us strength and makes us brave when we are afraid. The Holy Spirit is the one who talks to us and gives us words that encourage us and make us happy. Jesus said that He would give us joy and that this joy would be amazing and wonderful.
We learn in the Bible:
“When you are arrested, don’t worry about how to respond or what to say. God will give you the right words at the right time. For it is not you who will be speaking—it will be the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.” (Matthew 10:19-20).
We have a friend who will never leave us and never forsake us. We have a Spirit who will guide us and give us power and strength when we are in trouble. He is the Holy Spirit. He lives in you if you believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. And He can live in you and be with you forever if you ask Jesus Christ to enter your life and your heart.
