Have faith in God

First off, we need to understand that everyone on earth is given faith. It is a gift from God. But not everyone has put their faith in Jesus Christ. Some people have put their faith in money; some have put their faith in themselves, or some other person; some have put their faith in their own works and how good they can be, or some religious system.

What must we do to be saved?

Jesus said it very simply: “This is the only work God wants from you: Believe in the one he has sent.” – John 6:29

Jesus also said: “”Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me.” – John 14:1

We all have trust. We trust our money is going to stay in the bank, we trust we will wake up tomorrow, we trust our friends and spouses, we trust our dishes will be in the kitchen when we get there, we trust the government processes, we trust doctors and lawyers. All of us have trusted someone or something at some point in time.

How did trusting others work out for you?

Was your trust always honoured by others? Did things always go well for you when you trusted in your judgment? Jesus said: “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me.” Jesus told us where to put our trust – in Him.

Jesus never said: Get some trust and faith, you don’t have any. Jesus assumed and knew that we all have faith and He said for us to put our faith and trust in Him, not anywhere else, not in anyone else and not in anything else.

God has the power over all things. Banks will disappear, friends will let us down at least sometimes, cars will break down and not start, companies and jobs may disappear, air may get polluted, water may become dirty, many, many things we trust in and believe in will show themselves to be unworthy and only temporary helps. Let’s face we will all die one day so the things we see will no longer be trustworthy.

But the Bible says: “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”

My espresso machine doesn’t work

I bought an espresso machine to make coffee and had a friend come over to enjoy some. I put the filter in with the coffee as usual and it wouldn’t work? It was kind of embarrassing. It worked yesterday, I said. But it is not working today. Turns out the filters need to be cleaned in a special way and I don’t know how.

I trusted this machine to work, but it didn’t. It worked yesterday, but it didn’t work today.

But trusting in God always works, trust and faith in God is guaranteed to work 100 percent of the time.

The Bible says: “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. So do not be attracted by strange, new ideas. Your strength comes from God’s grace, not from rules about food, which don’t help those who follow them.” – Hebrews 13:8-9

God has the power to save your soul and forgive your sins

It says in the Book of Romans: It is through faith that a righteous person has life.”

It also says:

“So we are made right with God through faith and not obeying the law.”

“There is only one God, and he makes people right with himself only by faith, whether they are Jews or Gentiles.”

“Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.”

If you don’t work you might not get paid

In the world if you don’t perform your job you may not get paid or you may get fired and not get any more contracts. But with God if you don’t work for eternal salvation, but put your faith in Him, you will be saved.

The Bible says: “When people work, their wages are not a gift, but something they have earned. But people are counted as righteous, not because of their work, but because of their faith in God who forgives sinners.” – Romans 4:4-5

So if you want to have eternal life and have your sins forgiven then put your faith in God. Believe in Him. Believe also in Jesus Christ, that Jesus died for your sins and paid the penalty for all your misbehaviour against God. He suffered and paid the price that you should have paid for all your disobedience against God.

It may be uncomfortable to acknowledge all your sins before God, or even to admit that you have sinned against God, but we are not appearing before a God who hates us or wants to condemn us, we are appearing before a loving Father who wants to forgive our sins through the work of His Son Jesus Christ upon the cross

Does circumcision save you?

No it does not. Our Father Abraham believed God and it was counted to him as righteousness. The Bible says: “And Abram believed the LORD, and the LORD counted him as righteous because of his faith.” – Genesis 15:6

And when was Abraham circumcised, before or after God declared Abraham righteous? Abraham was circumcised after. So this proves that it is not by works of the flesh that men and women and children are saved, it is by faith in God. And Jesus said have faith in God, have faith also in me.

No apologies for the simplicity of the Gospel

I make no apologies for the simplicity of the Gospel message.

Paul says in the book of Romans: “For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile. This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.” – Romans 1:16-17

Yes it is a simple message: put your faith in Jesus Christ and you will be saved; your sins will be forgiven because He paid the price and penalty for yours sins. Put your faith in Jesus Christ and you will be saved and receive eternal life. Put your faith in Jesus Christ and you will receive the Holy Spirit and the abundance of Joy and Peace that you have never had.

May the Lord Jesus Christ bless you.
