Let your acts of love be signs of worship to the Lord

Many times I find myself worshipping and praising the Lord for what He has done in my life. I am so thankful to Him that He saved me from my sins by washing me in His blood. I am thankful because He has given me new life in Him through the power of the Holy Spirit; and I am thankful that through Jesus Christ God has given me eternal life.

Jesus washed away my sins in His blood

Jesus has washed away my sins with His blood; He has cleansed me from the guilt of all the sins I have committed – and in fact it is sometimes difficult to fathom and understand that I really am forgiven for all the sins I have ever committed and ever will commit.

“…Jesus Christ. He is the faithful witness to these things, the first to rise from the dead, and the ruler of all the kings of the world. All glory to him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by shedding his blood for us.” – Revelation 1:5

God shed His blood for us so that our sins would be forgiven. And yes Jesus Christ is God in the flesh because the Bible tells us so. “God’s flock—his church, purchased with his own blood” – Acts 20:28.

We are God’s church, we belong to God’s church because God Himself through Jesus Christ shed His blood for us upon the cross so that spiritually our sins could be washed away and our souls would be satisfied by the presence and power of the Holy Spirit.

New life through the power of the Holy Spirit

Jesus has filled me with His Holy Spirit. He has provided a way for me to live this godly life for God that I always wanted to live but didn’t have to power or ability to do so.

Jesus has taken away the pain and sorrow of my soul. My soul used to be locked in this dangerous and dark cavern and there was no joy, or peace, or life in there at all.

But then Jesus Christ gave me a new birth through the power of His Holy Spirit.

Jesus explained this new birth to an interested religious seeker over two thousand years ago.

This is what Jesus said:

“There was a man named Nicodemus, a Jewish religious leader who was a Pharisee. After dark one evening, he came to speak with Jesus. “Rabbi,” he said, “we all know that God has sent you to teach us. Your miraculous signs are evidence that God is with you.”

Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.”

“What do you mean?” exclaimed Nicodemus. “How can an old man go back into his mother’s womb and be born again?”

Jesus replied, “I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit. Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life. So don’t be surprised when I say, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows wherever it wants. Just as you can hear the wind but can’t tell where it comes from or where it is going, so you can’t explain how people are born of the Spirit.” – John chapter 3: 1-8

Through the Holy Spirit we are able to live a life pleasing to God. We cannot live for God in our own flesh. We need God’s help through the power of His Holy Spirit to live a life for Him. This is why when we put our faith in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins our sins are forgiven and we are given God’s Spirit so that we can feel the peace of God and also so that we an live for God.

“…let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. …the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.” – Galatians 5: 16-22

Eternal life through Jesus Christ

God also gives us eternal life through Jesus Christ. When Adam sinned in the Garden of Eden death came into the world. And along with death hell was created. And all who reject God and His Savior Jesus Christ will go to that death which is the lake of fire.

“…but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 6:23.

When we accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior we received eternal life. God chose to make salvation available to all who put their faith in His Son Jesus Christ.

“He has come from above and is greater than anyone else. We are of the earth, and we speak of earthly things, but he has come from heaven and is greater than anyone else. He testifies about what he has seen and heard, but how few believe what he tells them! Anyone who accepts his testimony can affirm that God is true. For he is sent by God. He speaks God’s words, for God gives him the Spirit without limit. The Father loves his Son and has put everything into his hands. And anyone who believes in God’s Son has eternal life. Anyone who doesn’t obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remains under God’s angry judgment.” – John 3:31-35

John the Baptist said those words about Jesus Christ. And those words are true. When we put our faith in Jesus Christ then we receive eternal life. It happens the moment we believe.

Going to bed and worshipping the Lord

Many times when I lie down in my bed to go to sleep and my head is on my pillow I think abou the Lord Jesus Christ. I remember what He did for me. He died on the cross for my sins and washed me in His blood and too away all the guilt of my sins. He gave me eternal life. He gave me His Holy Spirit so that I could live a life for God.

And I am so happy when I think of these things. And I tell Jesus that I am so happy for what He did to me. I so enjoy living this life as a Christian.

And then I offer up to Him the things I did in His name. I give them to Him as a sweet and please offering. I pray that my prayers and offerings to Him are a sweet and fragrant offering to Him.

I so look forward to the day when I die this physically life and am transported into the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ.

There I hope to hear these words from Him:

“Well done, good and faithful servant!” – Matthew 25:21
