Dear sisters and brothers in Christ:

I greet you with the PEACE and LOVE that we find in Christ alone. I pray that you are at peace with our God and holding on tightly to his Word this very moment. I am writing to you this note while on a bus and on my way home.

Beloved ones, lately I have been experiencing the amazing ways in which God works. (He NEVER fails to AMAZE me). Many beautiful events have taken place in my life and to those who are close to me. We all face hardships but fear not for our God is greater than any mountain – ameen 🙂 I am thrilled to say that Christ is growing bigger as troubles fade – hallelujah. There is this one incident (if that is the right word to use) that turned out to be a miracle! Unfortunately I cannot share everything with you, due to personal information regarding a dear friend. But I will try to share with you just a little 🙂

So, (the usual Somali way to start a long talk) I have been reunited with a long lost friend in a wonderful way! I hope one day this person will share their testimony because once you hear it you will know that ONLY GOD, a living GOD can do such miracle. But what I can tell you is that this friend was rescued from the darkness of Islam into the light of Christ by of course JESUS.

This person was in desperate need for a greater power and prayed to the only god they knew, the god of Islam, but they never got an answer. Then this person remembered a conversation we had a few years ago where I said, “what if Jesus actually is the Only true God?”

This person said they wanted to pray to Jesus just to try their luck… but they didn’t know exactly how to pray. So they did what they saw Christians do in movies – my friend put their hands together, closed their eyes and spoke to Jesus. This is what my friend told me:

“Since I didn’t know what language to approach Jesus with, I just prayed in Somali and told Him that if He really was God, an saw my problems and the unjust, unfair crimes that were committed against me, and if He saw all that I suffering and going through – He JESUS had to help me. I said that if He was not indifferent to me and to my situation He had to help me and show me that He was real and that He cared about me.

After I prayed to Jesus I felt my emotions swirling all around but at the same time I felt an unusual peace in my heart…and few days later, I saw the answer clearly! God had sent my friend into my life a few years ago to tell me about Jesus so that He could help me get out of the hell and prison I was living in. My friend gave me a chance to hear about Him and to know that He exists and to my surprise I found out that Jesus actually cares about me!”

When I was reunited with this dear friend of mine we both cried over the wonderful ways our God works. We both rejoiced over the simple fact that GOD has not forgotten Somalia, God has not forgotten Somalis.

Beloved ones, I can tell you this: our friend was been baptized some days ago! I was blessed enough to participate in this wonderful day! Hallelujah!

Maybe one day you will be able to hear the full testimony from this person who can tell it so beautifully. But until then, I just felt I had to share a little bit with you and to remind you and let you know that God is ALLMIGHTY. And there is no comma there! God is ALLMIGHTY. Full stop.

If you my darling sister or brother are seeking peace with God, know this, Jesus is already at your doorstep knocking at the door of your heart, wanting you to invite Him in, HE does not want to force His way in or break down your door with the power He is. HE wants YOU to invite him IN. “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me. ” (Rev 3:20).

When you open your heart to God, you do it because you want to! The willingness is what makes your relationship with God so delicious. God gave you free will. Please do not abuse it by shutting the door on Him. Do not fear HIM as Islam teaches. He is not angry or distant. God is to be honored. He is LOVE, and all His works are beautiful. “And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.” (1 John 4:16).

I pray that you may taste a sip of His love…”Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.” (Psalm 34:8).

I say this because there is no one else for me but JESUS. I can never get enough of His love. Life makes sense when the presence of THE HOLY SPIRIT is in it! Well, at least in my life. Hehe yes, that is when I get rest and find my hiding place.

We live in a world where it very easy to loose your way and get lost in the darkness! Every commercial, every newspaper, movie…etc they are all talking about: how to find happiness by on your own with some “professional guide”; by exploring the dark side; by living in sin; by teaching that lying is socially accepted; to be your own boss; etc…so yes it is indeed very easy to get lost. But don’t be your own god serve the Living God.

Therefore we must get closer to God when things try to drag us away from Him! And how do we stay close to God? Well, personally I feel that the more time I spend with God in prayer and worship the more I see what steps I need to take and I see more clearly God’s path! And of course I READ THE BIBLE the HOLY BIBLE the WORD OF GOD. Whenever I get confused (by preachers) I just run to the Bible and read it. What it says is crystal clear! So I don’t get surprised by whatever is happening in this world! The Bible tells us clearly what is going to happen and how to stay close to GOD. Hallelujah!

At last I would love to share with you a word a brother told us today at church (yepp it is sunday) 🙂

“by spending time with God we don’t loose but gain”

God bless you beloved ones

your sister in Christ
