God judges everyone on earth for the sins that they have committed. We will not die for the sins that someone else did. We will be judged because of the sins that we did. Jesus took our sins away from us and said that our sins became His sins. He took away the sins of the world when He died on the cross for us. Jesus did not have to die because He never sinned. But He wanted to die for our sins so that we could be free from the punishment of God. Jesus set us free because He suffered and died for our sins. If we believe in Him we will have eternal life. Jesus died for our sins.

People will be judged because of the sins they did

“All people will die for their own sins–those who eat the sour grapes will be the ones whose mouths will pucker” (Jeremiah 31:30)

God said that every person will be judged for their own sins. God judges us for the sins that we have done. And we have all sinned and therefore we are all guilty of death and deserve to be punished.

Adam sinned when he disobeyed God and ate from the tree in the Garden of Eden. Sin entered his heart and his body. And every person born after Adam is born with a sinful nature. That is why everyone sins.

“All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the LORD laid on him the sins of us all” (Isaiah 53:6)

The soul that sins will die

“The person who sins is the one who will die. The child will not be punished for the parent’s sins, and the parent will not be punished for the child’s sins. Righteous people will be rewarded for their own righteous behavior, and wicked people will be punished for their own wickedness” (Ezekiel 18:20)

It is good and right that we are not judged for someone else’s sins. It is good that every person will be judged for what they did. We will not be judged for the sins that someone else did.

We have all sinned. We are not judged for Adam’s sins, or our parent’s sins, or anyone else’s sins. We are judged for our own sins. And we have all sinned. We are all guilty of breaking the Law and sinning before God.

Jesus died for our sins

Jesus “was handed over to die because of our sins, and he was raised to life to make us right with God.” (Romans 4:25) We are judged because of our own sins. But someone can die for our sins if they are worthy and righteous. Jesus was a perfect man because He was God. So Jesus could die for our sins.

We are all guilty because of the sins that we committed. We are not guilty because of the sins that Adam did. We are guilty because each one of us has sinned before God and broken His Holy Laws.

But, the good news is that someone can die for our sins and take our punishment if they want to. But they have to be perfect in every way. They can never break the law. Only Jesus is perfect, so only Jesus can die for ours sins. The Bible says: “Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! (Romans 5:7-9)

Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins! But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all.” (Isaiah 53:4-6)

We are all judged for the sins we committed

We cannot be judged for the sins that someone else committed. We are not guilty of sin because Adam sinned. We are guilty of sin because we have sinned. Adam sinned and sin as a force and and as a power entered human beings. Every human being who is born is born with a sinful nature.

And because of the sin living inside of us we have all sinned. We are guilty. No one can say that they are perfect like God and that they have never sinned.

“And just as each person is destined to die once and after that comes judgment, so also Christ died once for all time as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. He will come again, not to deal with our sins, but to bring salvation to all who are eagerly waiting for him.” (Hebrews 9:27-28)

Trust in Jesus and you will be free from the penalty of your sins

“Later Jesus said to them again, “I am going away. You will search for me but will die in your sin. You cannot come where I am going.”

The people asked, “Is he planning to commit suicide? What does he mean, ‘You cannot come where I am going’?”

Jesus continued, “You are from below; I am from above. You belong to this world; I do not. That is why I said that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am who I claim to be, you will die in your sins.” (John 8:21-25)

Everyone will die for their own sins unless they accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. If we believe in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour, then our sins will be forgiven and God will accept us into heaven. If we do not accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour, then we will have to die and be punished for our own sins in the lake of fire that burns forever, and ever.

So the choice is yours. You can accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour and have your sins forgiven and go to heaven. Either you will die for your own sins and suffer in the lake of fire forever, or you can accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour and be freed from the punishment of your sins, and be freed from the power of sin itself.
