The Bible teaches us that a husband should love his wife. A husband should treat his wife with respect and speak to the gently. A husband should not be cruel or evil towards his wife. Husbands should not hit their wives and try to dominate them with pain and power. Husbands should not be harsh with their wives and treat them badly. Husbands should love their wives.
Husbands should not be harsh with their wives
God says in the Bible: “Husbands, love your wives and never treat them harshly” – Colossians 3:19.
God says that a husband should never treat his wife harshly. That means he should not hit her, or disrespect her, or talk her in a cruel and hard way. Never. A husband is to treat his wife gently as he would a tender flower.
A husband should not act like a dictator toward his wife. His wife is a human being made in the image of God. It is evil for a husband to beat his wife and treat her like an animal. It is a sin in the eyes of God.
Husbands cannot hit their wives
In Christianity a husband is not allowed to hit or beat his wife. It is not permissible. A husband has to teach his wife gently and explain things to her in a calm and patient way. He is not allowed to beat her in any way.
Husbands love your wives
“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her” – Ephesians 5:25.
Love is from. “God is love” (1 John 4:8). This may sound different to you. You may have never heard it. But God is love and God loves you and cares about you like a mother cares for her child. A mother wakes up during the night to feed her child. A mother, even if she is sick or tired, will care for her child.
And God loved us so much that Jesus died on the cross for our sins. Many people ask, Why would God die on the cross for our sins? The reason God died on the cross for our sins is that He loves us very much and would do anything to save us from our sins and give us eternal life.
A husbands needs to love his wife with all his heart so that they can both please God in what they do.
A Husband needs to serve his wife
Mothers and wives should take care of their homes and their families. And a husband should help his wife. A husband should provide care and love for his wife. He should be kind to her and help her.
“For wives, this means submit to your husbands as to the Lord. For a husband is the head of his wife as Christ is the head of the church. He is the Savior of his body, the church. As the church submits to Christ, so you wives should submit to your husbands in everything.
For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her to make her holy and clean, washed by the cleansing of God’s word. He did this to present her to himself as a glorious church without a spot or wrinkle or any other blemish. Instead, she will be holy and without fault. In the same way, husbands ought to love their wives as they love their own bodies. For a man who loves his wife actually shows love for himself. No one hates his own body but feeds and cares for it, just as Christ cares for the church. And we are members of his body.
As the Scriptures say, “A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.” This is a great mystery, but it is an illustration of the way Christ and the church are one. So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband” – Ephesians 5:22-33.
A husband should build up His wife in Christ
A husband should teach his wife about the Lord and be a good spiritual leader to her and his family. A husband is a priest in his own family and should lead the family in prayers and in Bible studies in the home. A husband is the spiritual leader in the home and this means that he has to teach his wife about the Lord by the way he acts.
A husband should show his wife who God is by the gentle way that he treats her. A husband should speak kindly to his wife and not be harsh with her. A husband should not yell at his wife or treat her with disrespect. In this way he will show his wife the character and the nature of God.
The Bible teaches us and says:
“Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children. Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God.
Let there be no sexual immorality, impurity, or greed among you. Such sins have no place among God’s people. Obscene stories, foolish talk, and coarse jokes—these are not for you. Instead, let there be thankfulness to God. You can be sure that no immoral, impure, or greedy person will inherit the Kingdom of Christ and of God. For a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world” – Ephesians 5:1-5.
A husband should be a holy representative of God by the way he treats his wife. “An excellent wife is the crown of her husband” – Proverbs 12:4.
A husband should enjoy the beauty of his wife and remain sexually faithful to her his whole life. A husband should not lust after other women or desire to be with them sexually. A husband should be fully committed to loving his wife and taking care of her, just as God is committed to being faithful to us and taking care of us.
