Many people are trying to find peace for their souls and hearts: they are trying to find peace of mind.
Jesus said:
“I am leaving you with a gift–peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” – John 14:27
“Nabad baan idiinka tegayaa, nabaddaydana waan idin siinayaa, sida dunidu u siiso anigu idiin siin maayo. Qalbigiinnu yuusan murugoon, yuusanna biqin.” – Yooxanaa 14:27
This world cannot give us peace. Everything in this world changes and moves: nothing stays still. The trees blow in the wind; the dust of the earth blows around; the sun disappears at night; statues and idols move; people die and their spirits leave this earth. The whole world is at danger of destroying itself. There is no peace in this world.
“But my heart is heavy with grief.
Weep for me, for I wither away.
Deceit still prevails,
and treachery is everywhere.
Terror and traps and snares will be your lot,
you people of the earth.
Those who flee in terror will fall into a trap,
and those who escape the trap will be caught in a snare.
Destruction falls like rain from the heavens;
the foundations of the earth shake.
The earth has broken up.
It has utterly collapsed;
it is violently shaken.
The earth staggers like a drunk.
It trembles like a tent in a storm.
It falls and will not rise again,
for the guilt of its rebellion is very heavy.
In that day the LORD will punish the gods in the heavens
and the proud rulers of the nations on earth.
They will be rounded up and put in prison.
They will be shut up in prison
and will finally be punished. – Isaiah 24:16-22
“Darafka dhulka ugu shisheeya ayaan ka maqalnay gabayo lahaa, Ammaanu ha u ahaato kan xaqa ah. Laakiinse anigu waxaan idhi, Caatoobay oo caatoobay, anaa iska hoogay! Khaa’innadii khiyaanay sameeyeen, hubaal khaa’innadii aad iyo aad bay khiyaano xun u sameeyeen. Kan dhulka degganow, waxaa ku hor yaal cabsi iyo yamays iyo dabin Oo kii qaylada cabsida ka cararaa yamayskuu ku dhici doonaa, oo kii yamayska ka soo baxana waxaa qaban doona dabinka, waayo, waxaa la furay daaqadihii xagga sare, oo aasaaskii dhulkuna wuu gariirayaa. Dhulkii dhammaantiis wuu dumay, oo dhulkii kulligiis wuu burburay, oo dhulkii aad iyo aad buu u dhaqdhaqaaqay. Dhulku wuxuu u dhicdhici doonaa sida nin sakhraansan, oo waxaa loo dhaqdhaqaajin doonaa sida buul oo kale. Xadgudubkiisuna wuu ku cuslaan doonaa, oo wuu dhici doonaa, oo mar dambena sooma kici doono.
Oo waxay maalintaas noqon doontaa in Rabbigu ciidanka kuwa sare kor ku ciqaabi doono, oo boqorrada dunidana dhulkuu ku ciqaabi doonaa. Oo iyaga waxaa laysugu soo ururin doonaa sida maxaabiista godxabsiga loogu urursho, oo waa la xabbisi doonaa oo maalmo badan dabadeed ayaa la ciqaabi doonaa. – Ishacyaah 24:16-22
Look at the old trees – people cut them down to make fire to cook their food. Look at the ocean – pirates ride their boats. Look again at the ocean and you see whether big companies poured their toxic waste into the Indian Ocean.
Is there peace in Somalia? There is no peace. There is a stirring in the heart of Somalis. The winds of the world blow in their hearts and the waves crash against their souls. There is no peace.

The early Christians were persecuted, tortured and killed in Rome. Rome was not always a place where Christians were allowed to live and worship Jesus Christ freely. In the year 162 AD the Roman ruler at that time made it illegal to be a Christian. If you were found to be a Christian you would die a horrible and painful death. Many times Christians were thrown into the stadium where wild animals would kill them.
During this time in Rome the Christians would hide underground and worship the Lord. There were many tunnels underground in Rome that people used to bury their dead because they were not allowed to bury people inside the city. So there were many miles of tunnels underground that people used to use. And the Christians would go underground into these tunnels and worship the Lord there.
On the walls of these tunnels you can find many things that Christians of the first century wrote when they lay their dead in the tunnels. For example they wrote things like:
- Victorious in peace and Christ
- Being called away, he went into peace
- Here lies Maria, put to rest in a dream of peace
The Christians of the early church were not afraid to tell others about the Lord Jesus Christ. How else are people supposed to hear about the good news about Jesus Christ unless someone else tells them?
“For “Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.” But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!” – Romans 10:13-15
“Waayo, ku alla kii magaca Rabbiga ku baryaa, waa badbaadi doonaa. Haddaba sidee bay ugu baryi doonaan kan aanay rumaysnayn? Oo sidee bay u rumaysan doonaan kan aanay maqlin? Oo sidee bay u maqli doonaan haddii aan la wacdiyin? Oo sidee bay u wacdiyi doonaan haddaan la dirin? sida qoran, Qurux badanaa cagaha kuwa wax ku wacdiya waxyaalaha wanaagsan.” – Rooma 10:13-15
We at Somali Christian Ministries want to be that voice for God proclaiming the good news about His Son Jesus Christ – the one who died on the cross for our sins. The Bible says that if you call upon the name of the Lord you will be saved. So if you cry out to God right now and ask Him to help you and to forgive your sins – God will do it. God will also give you peace in your soul something that the world can never do. God will give you peace, forgiveness of sins, and eternal life in His Son Jesus Christ.
“No one lights a lamp and then hides it or puts it under a basket Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where its light can be seen by all who enter the house.
Your eye is a lamp that provides light for your body. When your eye is good, your whole body is filled with light. But when it is bad, your body is filled with darkness. Make sure that the light you think you have is not actually darkness. If you are filled with light, with no dark corners, then your whole life will be radiant, as though a floodlight were filling you with light.” – Luke 11:33-36
“Ma jiro nin, goortuu ilays shido, dhiga meel qarsoon ama weel hoostiisa, laakiin wuxuu saaraa meeshii ilayska si ay kuwa soo galaa iftiinka u arkaan. Ilayska jidhkaagu waa ishaada, ishaaduna markay hagaagsan tahay, jidhkaaga oo dhammu waa iftiimaa, laakiin goortay xun tahay, jidhkaaguna waa gudcur. Haddaba iska jir si iftiinka kugu jiraa aanu gudcur u ahaan. Haddaba haddii jidhkaaga oo dhammu iftiimo, aanuna lahayn meel gudcur ah, waa wada iftiimaa, sida goortii ilayska dhalaalayaa uu kuu iftiimiyo.” – Luukos 11:33-36
Keep your focus on the Lord Jesus Christ. Keep your eyes fixed upon Jesus Christ the author and finisher of your faith. Be filled with the light of Jesus Christ. Be filled with the Holy Spirit. I am a weakling without the Holy Spirit in my life. I can do nothing for Christ without the Holy Spirit living and breathing in my soul. I thank God for the Holy Spirit who was given to me when I put my faith in Jesus Christ.
If you want peace for your soul, if you want to know that you are going to heaven, if you want to have your sins forgiven then ask Jesus Christ to come into your life and wash away your sins. If you want peace and if you want Jesus Christ to come into your life then say this pray with me:
“Lord Jesus Christ. I have no peace. I have done many terrible things in my life and I have not followed you with my whole heart. I deserve to die in hell for the rest of my life because of the sins I have committed. So I ask you to forgive my sins and come into my life with your Holy Spirit and give me peace. In Jesus name – Amen.”
