Jesus is a Healer
Jesus walked this earth and people hounded Him wherever He went. They wanted to be healed. They had demon possessed children that they wanted to see delivered. They needed forgiveness of their sins and they wanted miracles. Tens of thousands of people followed Him around wherever He went. They wanted to get a glimpse of Him. They broke through houses to get to see Him. They crawled in the dirt just to touch Him. Some women fell at His feet and wiped their tears with their hair. They loved Him and adored Him.
There was one lady who was very sick. The Bible said that she had “continual bleeding”, which could be another way of saying that her period never stopped. She was so sick. No one wanted to marry her. She was dirty, sick, and she stank. We read in Mark chapter 5 and verse 25: “She had suffered a great deal from many doctors, and over the years she had spent everything she had to pay them, but she had gotten no better. In fact, she had gotten worse.”
She was broke, sick, alone, and looked upon like a leper. Then she found Jesus and He healed her. After that her life was completely changed.
Sometimes we try to solve our problems our own way, and things just get worse. We waste our time, energy, and money on things that don’t work. We drink and we get worse. We sin and get dirtier. We get angry, we get more desperate, we fall into this hole of despair and think that there is no way out.
But there is a way out. Jesus said: “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” Jesus will bring life. He is the way. He is our answer.
There was another woman. Her daughter was possessed by a demon. An evil spirit took hold of her daughter and was tormenting her and making her life, and her mother’s life miserable. Where was the father? Was he still around? Or did he disappear and hide his face in the arms of another woman? Did he bury his fear in alcohol? We don’t know. This woman was not Jewish, but she didn’t care. She still wanted to talk to Jesus because she knew that Jesus could take away the evil spirit from her daughter. In Matthew chapter 15 and verse 21 she cries out to Jesus: ““Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! For my daughter is possessed by a demon that torments her severely.”
She wept. She cried. She poured out her heart to Jesus. She laid it all on the line. She put all her faith and trust in Him. And Jesus healed and delivered her daughter from that awful demon.
Jesus is available right now to hear your prayers. Jesus is not only the God for others, He can be your God and Saviour. Jesus died on the cross for everyone, not just a select group of people. Jesus is for all the people of the earth. Jesus died for every person in every country, city, or town in all the world. He didn’t just die for one nation. Anyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved. I encourage you to pray and tell Jesus the deepest problems in your heart and let Him help you.
Jesus’ disciples had been fishing all night and they didn’t catch a thing. They must have been tired and discouraged. They had to come home and maybe someone would ask: did you catch anything? And they would have to say no. These disciples were fisherman. They were supposed to catch fish and sell them to earn money. No fish meant no money. No money meant no food, they couldn’t pay their taxes, maybe they would have to go to jail.
In John chapter 21 verse 6 we read what happened when Jesus got involved in the men’s fishing: ““Throw out your net on the right-hand side of the boat, and you’ll get some!” So, they did, and they couldn’t haul in the net because there were so many fish in it.”
Jesus is the best advisor. He is the best employment counsellor. He is the best immigration officer. He is the best doctor. He is the one who can forgive you of your sins. If fact, He is the only one who can forgive you of your sins.
Jesus is the best family reconciliator. He is the best lawyer, the best mechanic, the best provider. There is no one better than Jesus. We read in the Bible what Jesus said about Himself: “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth” (Matthew 28: 18). Jesus has all the authority in heaven and on earth. Do you need someone to approve your Visa? Ask Jesus. Do you need a job? Ask Jesus. Do you need to have your sins forgiven? Ask Jesus. Do you need help with a violent neighbour? Jesus can help. Do you have someone sick or in need of demonic deliverance? Jesus is the best. He is the answer. He is the one to talk to.
Jesus can give you peace in the middle of a storm. Jesus can give you hope in the middle of a tragedy. Jesus can give you light in the darkness, joy in the midst of sorrow, peace in the middle of a war. Jesus is Lord. Jesus is the Saviour.
Maybe you are at the end of your hope. You have given up. You are afraid. You are like a flickering candle that is about to go out. You don’t think your prayer is ever going to be answered. Maybe you are afraid to tell Jesus how angry you are, or how disappointed you are. Jesus wants you to tell Him everything that is in your heart. He wants you to pour out your heart to Him.
I would like to pray with you now and believe that God is going to answer your need as we pray.
“Lord Jesus Christ. You know what we need even before we ask you. You know everything about us. Many people were sick when you were on earth, but only those who asked for prayer were healed. Many were possessed by demons, and those who parents asked you to heal their children, had their children healed. You want us to ask you to help us with our problems. You want us to ask you to heal us, to help us with our oppression and the attacks the devil has made upon us. So Lord Jesus Christ we ask you now to help us to provide for us whatever it is we need, No need is too small or insignificant for you to answer. Thank you Lord for hearing our prayers. You will answer there prayers. Amen.
