Sometimes in the midst of life and all its struggles God is all we have – and in those time God is enough. I would like to call up a Somali Christian and pray with them; but there is no one to call.

It would be nice to have a Somali Christian provide some testimonies and words of encouragement for the website; but there isn’t anybody.

And so it goes…God is with you.

How many times have these words been spoken of in the Bible – I am with you. And those words have been enough.

In Acts chapter 18 we read:

“One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision and told him, “Don’t be afraid! Speak out! Don’t be silent! For I am with you, and no one will attack and harm you, for many people in this city belong to me.” So Paul stayed there for the next year and a half, teaching the word of God.”

Paul must have been afraid of preaching the gospel in that city so God gave Paul and word of encouragement: “I am with you.”

And when Joshua was ready to lead the Israelite people in the promised land God spoke to Joshua and said:

“Now it came about after the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, that the Lord spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ servant, saying, “Moses My servant is dead; now therefore arise, cross this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them, to the sons of Israel. Every place on which the sole of your foot treads, I have given it to you, just as I spoke to Moses. From the wilderness and this Lebanon, even as far as the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and as far as the Great Sea toward the setting of the sun will be your territory. No man will be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I have been with Moses, I will be with you; I will not fail you or forsake you. Be strong and courageous, for you shall give this people possession of the land that I swore to their fathers to give them. Only be strong and very courageous; be careful to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, so that you may have success wherever you go. This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

There are many things I would like to have in the ministry; but I don’t. And it is in times like these that the Lord speaks to my heart through His Holy Spirit and by His Word and says to me: “I am with you.”

You may have some issues in your life that are very troubling: you probably do. There are some things in life that only God had help us with – HE says in His Word – “I am the Lord and there is no other. “

God speaks to us in Isaiah 43 and says:

“But now, O Jacob, listen to the Lord who created you.

O Israel, the one who formed you says,

“Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you.

I have called you by name; you are mine.

When you go through deep waters,

I will be with you.

When you go through rivers of difficulty,

you will not drown.

When you walk through the fire of oppression,

you will not be burned up;

the flames will not consume you.

For I am the Lord, your God,

the Holy One of Israel, your Saviour.

…. you are precious to me.

You are honoured, and I love you.”

Do not be afraid, for I am with you.

I will gather you and your children from east and west.

“But you are my witnesses, O Israel!” says the Lord.

“You are my servant.

You have been chosen to know me, believe in me,

and understand that I alone am God.

There is no other God—

there never has been, and there never will be.

I, yes I, am the Lord,

and there is no other Saviour.

First I predicted your rescue,

then I saved you and proclaimed it to the world.

No foreign god has ever done this.

You are witnesses that I am the only God,”

says the Lord.

“From eternity to eternity I am God.

No one can snatch anyone out of my hand.

No one can undo what I have done.”
