The name of Jesus has power. Speaking the name of Jesus out loud can make demons and bad angels leave us and run away. If we are under attack from evil spirits then we can speak out the name of Jesus and tell these evil spirits to leave us. And they will obey us because we have spoken in the name of Jesus.
The name of Jesus is the most powerful name
There is no name that is greater in power than the name of Jesus. The name of Jesus is the most powerful name in the universe.
“…at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth” – Philippians 2:10.
The power of the name of Jesus can heal the sick
If we pray in the name of Jesus people can be healed. The name of Jesus has healing power because Jesus is the one who can heal. When we are calling on the name of Jesus we are calling upon Jesus Himself to come and heal someone.
“Do you want to know how he was healed? Let me clearly state to all of you and to all the people of Israel that he was healed by the powerful name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, the man you crucified but whom God raised from the dead. For Jesus is the one referred to in the Scriptures, where it says,
‘The stone that you builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.’ There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved” – Acts 4:9-12.
The name of Jesus can cast out evil spirits from people
The disciples and followers of Jesus came to Jesus to tell Him: “Teacher, we saw someone using your name to cast out demons” – Mark 9:38.
The name of Jesus can cast out demons. Many of Jesus’ followers used the name of Jesus to cast out a demon. One of them said: “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her!” And it came out at that very moment” – Acts 16:18.
Jesus gave his followers the power to cast out demons using His name:
“These signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons” – Mark 16:17.
The name of Jesus has authority
Jesus has power and authority. His name has power and authority. When the people in Israel saw the things that Jesus was doing, they said: “What sort of new teaching is this?” they asked excitedly. “It has such authority! Even evil spirits obey his orders!” – Mark 1:27.
Jesus is more powerful than the devil (Satan)
Jesus is very powerful. Even the devil cannot stand up against Jesus. If we use the name of Jesus against the devil, the devil will be afraid and will obey the name of Jesus. That is how much power the name of Jesus has.
One time there was a fight in the heavens. The devil Satan was fighting against God’s angels. One of those angels spoke to Satan in the name of Jesus and Satan had to leave:
“But even Michael, one of the mightiest of the angels, did not dare accuse the devil of blasphemy, but simply said, “The Lord rebuke you!” (This took place when Michael was arguing with the devil about Moses’ body.)” – Jude 1:9.
The name of Jesus gives hope
When people hear the name of Jesus it gives them hope. Maybe you are sick and you are in need of healing. The power of the name of Jesus can heal you. Maybe someone you know is suffering from a very bad sickness. If you call upon the name of Jesus your friend can be healed. Maybe someone you love and care about is about to die, if you call upon the name of Jesus that person can be healed and live for a long time.
“A woman in the crowd had suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding. She had suffered a great deal from many doctors, and over the years she had spent everything she had to pay them, but she had gotten no better. In fact, she had gotten worse. She had heard about Jesus, so she came up behind him through the crowd and touched his robe. For she thought to herself, “If I can just touch his robe, I will be healed.” Immediately the bleeding stopped, and she could feel in her body that she had been healed of her terrible condition” – Mark 5:25-29.
“When he heard that Jesus had come from Judea to Galilee, he went and begged Jesus to come to Capernaum to heal his son, who was about to die….“Then Jesus told him, “Go back home. Your son will live!” And the man believed what Jesus said and started home” – John 4:47-50.
“Two blind men were sitting beside the road. When they heard that Jesus was coming that way, they began shouting, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!” …. Jesus felt sorry for them and touched their eyes. Instantly they could see! Then they followed him” – Matthew 20:30-33.
Believe in the name of Jesus and you will be saved and healed
The name of Jesus is powerful for many things. You can be saved from your sins and made into a new person if you call upon the name and power and person of Jesus Christ.
You can be healed of any sickness, even if you are about to die, if you call upon the name of Jesus and ask Him to heal you or someone that you know.
Do not be afraid to believe in Jesus
Jesus told us not to be afraid of believing in Him. Jesus knows our hearts and our minds. He knows that we are afraid of many things. And He does not want us to be afraid. He wants us to live in peace and the joy that the Holy Spirit gives us. That is why Jesus said: “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me” (John 14:1).
