What is your need today? What is it that is troubling you? Do you have an addiction that is tormenting you? Jesus can set you free. Are you stuck living an immoral lifestyle? Are you stuck doing something that you want to be set free from? Jesus can do it. Are you tormented by demons? Jesus can cast them out and send them away. Are you in financial need? Jesus can send you money. Are you single and want to be married? Jesus can find you a spouse. Is your spouse hard hearted? Jesus can change your husband or your wife.
The people in Jesus’ day had the same problems we have today. It was a different time period, a different government, different technologies, but the people problems were the same: addictions, sin, demonic possession, financial problems, people wanting to get married, and husbands and wives that did not act properly.
Greed as an addiction
Maybe you are addicted to something. There was a man in the Bible named Zaccheus who was addicted to money. He loved money. He would do anything for money. He would rob people of their money. He would take money away from families so that they couldn’t feed their kids. Zachheus would commit fraud. He would extort money from people by force. He would commit blackmail. He did all sorts of things because money was his idol. Money was his god.
Maybe you’re addicted to something, or you know someone who is addicted to something. Jesus can set your free. Zacchaeus started to believe in Jesus as his Lord and Saviour and this is what happened:
“But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything,I will pay back four times the amount.” – Luke 19:8
Zacchaeus was set free from his addiction.
An immoral lifestyle
Maybe your living a life of drugs, alcohol and sex, and you are sick of that lifestyle. You know there is something better for you out there, but you don’t know how to get it. There was a woman in the Bible called Mary Magdalene. She was a prostitute and she had demons inside of her. She lived a very immoral lifestyle. She knew the streets. When she came to Jesus and asked for help Jesus cast those demons out of her and she was set free. She became a new person. She was clean and was able to live for God.
Here is a verse from the Bible about Mary Magdalene:
“Mary Magdalene, from whom he had cast out seven demons;” – Luke 8:2
If your are living on the street, or stuck in a lifestyle of drugs and sex, Jesus can set your free. He can clean you and give you a new life.
Man with 2000 demons
Maybe you are really possesses by demons. Mary Magdalene has some trouble with demons, but there was a man who had 2000 demons living inside of him. He lived in the graveyards. He ran around naked. He was wild and sick. No one could control him. He ran around and lived in caves and everyone was scared of him.
When Jesus saw the man, Jesus commanded the demons to get out of the man, and they obeyed him. The man was set free. He became normal. He had a sound mind and wanted to follow Jesus wherever Jesus went. But Jesus told the man to go home and tell everyone what happened to him.
Here is a verse from the Bible about the demon possessed man:
Then Jesus demanded, “What is your name?” And he replied, “My name is Legion, because there are many of us inside this man.”
Maybe you’re broke. You have no money. Maybe you are behind in paying the bills. Jesus can help you with that as well. All you need to do is get on your knees and cry out to Him. You need to ask Jesus to help you. There was a lady in the Bible who had no money. She was broke. She thought that she was going to die along with her son. She thought they would die of starvation.
But she told that problem to a man who believed in God, and the man prayed for her, and she got all the money she needed to pay off her debts, and then some. So ask God to help you, or call someone to pray for you, and you will be delivered from your problem.
This is what the Bible says about the woman who got all the money she needed:
“Then go inside and shut the door behind you and your sons. Pour oil into all the jars, and as each is filled, put it to one side.”
You too can be set free from poverty. God can help you.
Maybe your are single and you want to be married. God cares about that too. Jesus cares about that. Jesus wants to answer your prayers and see you happy. There was a lady in the Bible who was sick. Her period would not stop. She had constant bleeding. No one wanted to marry her. She stank, she was tired, and she spent all her money trying to get healed. Then she saw Jesus and reached out to Him for healing. She touched the hem of his coat and she got miraculously healed.
Don’t give up. You can be healed. This lady probably got married after that as she was now completely healed. Here is verse from the Bible that talks about her:
“And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any,
“Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.”
