God is a God of love and He cares for us very deeply. He does not wish harm to come to us; nor does He want to make our lives miserable. As human beings we get very confused sometimes because bad things happen to us and we start to ask whether or not God cares for us. He does care for us even though He allows bad things to happen to us; troubles and tragedies are just part of our lives here on earth.
God sent the Law and the 10 commandments through Moses for the Israelites and all other people’s to follow. However, we were not able to follow the Law of God even though it was sent to teach us how to live our lives. God sent the Law and we became guilty because we tried to follow the Law of God, we wanted to followe the Law of God, but we failed, and we became guilty of breaking God’s Law; and we started to feel guilty for breaking God’s Laws.
Then God sent His Son Jesus Christ into the world, Jesus the bread of life who came down from heaven; Jesus who came from heaven, Jesus the very being of God, very God Himself, came down to earth in the body of a man to live a perfect life and follow the Law completely. He didn’t deserve to die because the Bible says that if we follow the Law we will live.
But Jesus chose to willingly die in our place: Jesus gave Himself for us and died upon the cross for our sins. Jesus chose to died and take our punishment and peace upon Himself so that we could be free from the guilty and punishment of sins that was supposed to be ours. And if we believe in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour then we are forgiven and freed from the guilt and punishment of our sins. Glory to God – praise His Holy name.
The Law makes us guilty; Jesus sets us free
God gave us the Law through Moses and forgiveness of sins comes through Jesus.
This is how the Bible puts it:
“So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death. The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So God did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins. He did this so that the just requirement of the law would be fully satisfied for us, who no longer follow our sinful nature but instead follow the Spirit.” – Romans 8
The good news is that we can be free from the power of sins and the guilt that we feel because of our sins through our faith in Jesus Christ the Son of God. The Son of God is eternal; the Son of God is God; the Son of God is the Word of God and we know that the Word is God because the Bible tells us so. There is a great teaching in Christianity that we receive from the Bible, and that teaching is that God became a man and went to die on the cross for ours sins. Let us read about what God did for us in the Book of John from the New Testament in the Bible:
“In the beginning the Word already existed.
The Word was with God,
and the Word was God.
He existed in the beginning with God.
God created everything through him,
and nothing was created except through him.
The Word gave life to everything that was created,
and his life brought light to everyone.
The light shines in the darkness,
and the darkness can never extinguish it.
God sent a man, John the Baptist, to tell about the light so that everyone might believe because of his testimony. John himself was not the light; he was simply a witness to tell about the light. The one who is the true light, who gives light to everyone, was coming into the world.
He came into the very world he created, but the world didn’t recognize him. He came to his own people, and even they rejected him. But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God.
So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.
John testified about him when he shouted to the crowds, “This is the one I was talking about when I said, ‘Someone is coming after me who is far greater than I am, for he existed long before me.’”
From his abundance we have all received one gracious blessing after another. For the law was given through Moses, but God’s unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us.”
God punished Jesus to forgive us our sins
In order for our sins to be forgiven Jesus had to punished: there is no forgiveness of our sin unless someone else pays the punishment for our sins. And the punishment is death and the suffering of the soul in the eternal fires of hell. And this is what Jesus did for us:
“What we do see is Jesus, who was given a position “a little lower than the angels”; and because he suffered death for us, he is now “crowned with glory and honor.” Yes, by God’s grace, Jesus tasted death for everyone.” – Hebrews 2:9
“He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed.” – 1 Peter 2:24
“Dear brothers and sisters, we can’t help but thank God for you, because your faith is flourishing and your love for one another is growing. We proudly tell God’s other churches about your endurance and faithfulness in all the persecutions and hardships you are suffering. And God will use this persecution to show his justice and to make you worthy of his Kingdom, for which you are suffering. In his justice he will pay back those who persecute you.
And God will provide rest for you who are being persecuted and also for us when the Lord Jesus appears from heaven. He will come with his mighty angels, in flaming fire, bringing judgment on those who don’t know God and on those who refuse to obey the Good News of our Lord Jesus. They will be punished with eternal destruction, forever separated from the Lord and from his glorious power. When he comes on that day, he will receive glory from his holy people—praise from all who believe. And this includes you, for you believed what we told you about him.” – 2 Thessalonians 1
The Good News
Does anyone have any good news? Sometimes we get so depressed and discouraged that we ask ourselves and those around us: “Can someone tell me some good news?” We just want to blessed; we just want to feel happy; we have had so many bad things happen to us that we just want to hear someone tell us something good.
Here is some good news for you: Jesus Christ died for your sins so that you can have a relationship with God the Creator of the universe. Our sins separate us from God and Jesus Christ died for our sins so that we can have friendship with God. God is so good – praise His holy name. God is so good bless His holy name.
So if you are a Christian then this message is to help you feel good about what you have in Jesus: forgiveness of sins, eternal life, you are going to heaven, God is your Father and you will always have a friend who is with you and will never leave you. God is so very good.
If you are listening to this message, or reading it, and you have heard a knock on the door of your heart and you have heard the voice of Jesus saying to you: “I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in,”
There is nothing better; nothing compares to the greatness of Jesus coming into your life and filling you with His Spirit. So if you are looking for the best thing that could ever happen to you; then open you heart to the Lord Jesus Christ and invite Him in.
Jesus forgives sins, people who follow the Law want to punish and kill those who disobey the Law. Jesus said that you cannot become right with God by following the Law; but some people think following the Law will get them into heaven. It is the blood of Jesus that forgives sins and saves us from the second death – the eternal of hell.
A lot of blood has been shed over many years and over many wars; but there is one battle where the blood became the most important thing of all. This was in Jesus’ war against sin and the devil; and the Jesus won. And even though Jesus died, He shed His blood, and God uses that blood to wash away our sins. So if you accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, your battle will be over – you will have peace with God and not have to struggle to earn your salvation anymore. You will have peace with God because the battle for your soul has been won. All you need to do is accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour.
